Background
To be held in Beijing from 8-11 November, the
Forum will address a range of critically important themes relating to
the education for sustainable development (ESD) today. Main speakers
will include some of the world's leading thinkers in the field of ESD,
as well as numerous paper and workshop presentations by researchers
and practitioners.
Objectives
Exchange
and disseminate excellent theories, policies and initiatives
on education for sustainable development among various countries
Demonstrate
innovative practices out of China’s major ESD initiative,
UNESOC project on education for environment, population and
sustainable development and seek potential partnershipsnteract
with leading exponents in ESD
Explore the
institutional development for Asia-Pacific Center for ESD
Formulate
Beijing Consensus on ESD as a joint programme of action for
the future through contributions of all the participants.
