| The Second International Forum on ESD
To fully understand the spirit of IIS of UNDESD, promote DESD in China and strengthen the international cooperation on ESD, sponsored by Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, China EPD Education Working Committee and government of Haidian District, Beijing jointly held the Second International Forum on ESD during 28th Oct.-1st Nov.,2005 in Beijing, with the theme as ESD: International Visions and National Actions. There were approximately 300 officials, specialists, experts and school administrators attended the forum coming from 4 continents and 18 countries and areas including Asia, Africa, Europe and North America and from 8 international organizations such as UNESCO, UNDP, UNEP and so on. All participants discussed the vision and localizaion of IIS of UNDESD and understood the goal and connotation of IIS of UNDESD further, which made great contribution to forming international consensus on promoting UN DESD, carrying out scientific concept of development proposed by China Government and advancing the education reform and development in China.
